On Tuesday, December 4, 2012 the Oakland County Genealogical Society is pleased to present a program titled “Using Google Earth for Genealogy.” Our speaker is Doug Willett of Livonia-based Luna Tech 3D, who is one of the few certified Google Trusted Photographers in the area. Many genealogists are familiar with Google Maps. But do you use Google Earth? Doug will help us learn about applying this powerful tool to our genealogical endeavors. Come and learn how to discover more about the neighborhoods of your ancestors.
REMEMBER, THIS IS A NEW MEETING LOCATION: We will meet at the Troy Community Center (Room 303), 3179 Livernois Road, Troy, MI 48083. It is located on the west side of Livernois, just north of Big Beaver Road. The meeting will start at 7:00 PM and the public is invited. There is no charge. OCGS is working on a number of transcription projects, and can always use help. You can do as much or as little as your time allows. Assignments are usually 5 or 10 pages in length, and don't take to long to finish. We don't have deadlines, we try to work within the time you have.
