Our next meeting is Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 7 p.m. when Ms. Wally Schlegel will present a program titled “Family Search”. Ms. Schlegel will address the multitude of changes made in the FamilySearch.org website over the past few years. She will bring us up to date on recent changes, as well as some exciting new additions to the site. Please join us for this interesting and informative presentation.
The location of the meeting is Kilgour Scottish Centre of the St. Andrews Society, 2360 Rochester Court, Troy MI 48083. The Kilgour Centre is located off Rochester Road, near the intersection of Rochester Road and Stephenson Hwy, just south of I-75 exit 67 (Rochester Road). It may be accessed from the first driveway west of the Rochester Road-Stephenson Hwy intersection. Everyone is welcome; there is no charge. There is ample lighted parking and a flat entrance.
Beginning on January 27, 2014, you must obtain Detroit birth and death certificates through the Wayne County Clerk’s office. The address for the office is 640 Temple Street, 6th Floor. To mail a request, send a letter which includes the signature, return address, copy of ID, and phone number of the person making the request.
