On June 6 2014, Katherine Willson will present, "Using Facebook for Genealogical Research".
Facebook is quickly becoming a favorite resource among genealogical researchers for its vast networking capabilities. With the formation of many thousands of regional and surname-specific genealogy groups, Facebook is quickly breaking down brick walls that have blocked researchers for years -- often within 24 hours of posting a query! Ms. Willson's presentation will introduce members to Facebook as a genealogy tool and will guide the participants through the process of efficiently utilizing Facebook for their specific genealogical need.
Our meeting location is the Kilgour Centre of the St. Andrew's Society of Detroit, 2360 Rochester Court in Troy near the intersection of Rochester Road and Stephenson Hwy, just south and west of I-75 exit 67 (Rochester Road). Meeting time is 7:00 p.m.

We are in the process of contacting various township and city clerks in search of records to digitize for inclusion in our 1884 census substitute project. If you are aware of assessment records or other township or county records that fall within the 1885 to 1895 range please contact us by replying to this email. We provide the owner of the records with a CD copy of the records. We also index and post the records on our website.
